Lt. Col. Bradley “Rex” Klemesrud, 419th Fighter Wing F-35 pilot, speaks to a group of students during the High School Education Conference at the Utah State Capitol Oct. 25, in Salt Lake City. The annual event, hosted by Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, gives students an opportunity to learn about the election system, and the judicial and legislative processes. Klemesrud spoke to nearly 200 students about his transition from the F-16 to the F-35A, which has played a significant role in local and national politics. The reservist also explained the new jet’s capabilities and showed off his pilot gear, including the state-of-the-art F-35 helmet.
