Father’s Day is right around the corner and if you haven’t yet found the perfect gift for Dad, I have some ideas for you. If you’ve already done your shopping, save this list for upcoming birthdays and holidays for dads, moms and just about anyone who enjoys digital gadgets.

Let’s start with something useful, fun and under $100. Echo Buds, Amazon’s wireless earbuds, are on sale for $34.99. They offer surprisingly good sound, a snug fit and hands-free Alexa. What sets these apart for the price is multipoint pairing, which means Dad can switch from his phone to a tablet or laptop without having to reconnect. That’s especially helpful for taking calls on the go or catching up on podcasts at home. Battery life clocks in at around five hours per charge, with a compact case that holds another 15 hours. And if he loses them? Not such a big deal compared with Apple AirPods 4 at $129 or the upgraded noise-cancelling version at $179.

If Dad spends a lot of time outside, the Ripple Floating Pool Fountain is a crowd-pleaser. For $52.99 at Target, it sprays water in patterns and lights up at night with changing colors. It charges via solar power during the day, so there are no cords to worry about. While it’s designed for pools, it works in large backyard ponds or even oversized kiddie pools.

For dads who like to keep an eye on things while they’re away, the Google Nest Cam with Floodlight is a solid option at $210 from the usual sources, including Amazon that offers free same day shipping to Prime members. It shoots sharp 1080p video with HDR, offers night vision and has a built-in speaker and mic so Dad can talk to whoever’s outside. It can detect people, animals and vehicles — filtering out wind-blown leaves or shadows. It also connects with Google Home for voice control and remote access.

Garmin’s Father’s Day sale is a good chance to get premium gear at a discount. The Edge 1050 cycling computer ($599, down from $699) has a 3.5-inch color touch screen, turn-by-turn directions and group ride messaging, which is useful if Dad rides with friends. It tracks heart rate, cadence, elevation and can sync with Strava and Komoot.

Serious golfers will enjoy Garmin’s  the Approach R10 launch monitor, now $450. It records swing speed, spin, carry distance and more. Paired with a phone or tablet, it turns any range session into a training tool and supports simulated rounds on virtual courses. It’s portable so it can go anywhere Dad likes to play.

Need a desktop upgrade? The Samsung M8 Smart Monitor is a 32-inch 4K display with built-in Google TV and Netflix. Find it on Amazon for $270 with Prime one-day shipping. Dad can switch between using it for big screen work tasks with his laptop during the day and enjoy movies at night. It includes a magnetic webcam and a slim remote. If you’ve got a dad who works from home or wants to add a second screen to his setup, this one will be a winner.

For a step up in productivity, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 is a sleek laptop built for multitasking. It runs on AMD’s Ryzen 7 chip with 16GB of RAM, which is plenty for video calls, spreadsheets and light video editing, and 1TB of storage. The 14.5-inch high-resolution screen is sharp and color accurate, and the machine weighs just over three pounds. You can add three hours of battery life for each 15 minutes of charging. It’s on sale for $960 at Lenovo.com.

And yes, we’ve saved the game console for last. The long-awaited Nintendo Switch 2 is finally available and starts at $500 at most major retailers. It delivers faster load times, smoother graphics and longer battery life than the original. If Dad already owns the first version, consider a Pro Controller ($70) for better grip during longer play sessions or an upgraded microSD card for extra storage. New games optimized for the console are rolling out all summer.

If your dad loves tech, he doesn’t need more neckties or grilling tools. A well-chosen gadget — big or small — can give him hours of fun, convenience or both.
