The full Northern Utah calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:

1. Halloween Havoc Demolition Derby

Golden Spike Event Center, Ogden, Oct. 11, 6:30 p.m.

It’s time for a wild ride of mayhem and metal at the Halloween Havoc Demolition Derby. The event website says: “This spine-tingling event is set to bring thrills and chills as drivers go head-to-head in a chaotic battle of metal mayhem. With roaring engines and epic collisions, this spectacle delivers heart pounding entertainment for the whole family.”

For more information, go to goldenspikeeventcenter.com.

2. Northern Utah Trailfest

North Fork Park, Eden, Oct. 4-5, 4 p.m.

From the Northern Utah Trailfest event website: “The Northern Utah Trailfest started in 2022 as a fall celebration for all trail users! It’s a festival for outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys adventure and recreation. Runners, hikers, mountain bikers — all will enjoy the challenge of the NUT Trail Run and Mountain Bike Race as they compete to complete the most course laps in the timed 3, 6 or 9* hours loops. (*The 9-hour event is for the trail run only) In 2024, the duo option was introduced for both 6-hour races, allowing participants to team up and tackle the challenge together!”

3. 2025 Antelope Island Marathon

4528 W 1700 S, Syracuse, Oct. 11, 7 a.m.

Get out and run through the crisp fall air during the Antelope Island Marathon. The signup website says: “The Antelope Island Marathon has four distances. Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. All the distances are on Antelope Island. Antelope Island is home to 600 bison and the largest island on the Great Salt Lake. This course is a true marathon in that it is not all downhill like many. There are several rollers for the runners. The views of the race have the Great Salt Lake to the East and Antelope Island mountain on the West.”
