1. Owl Day
Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge, Brigham City, Jan. 10, 10 a.m.

Owls are fascinating creature who have captivated us for centuries and become part of myth and lore in many cultures. Take the change to learn more about these birds at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge. The website says: “Join the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge and the Friends of the Bear River Refuge for our annual Owl Day! Bring the whole family on January 10, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to explore the Exhibit Hall, enjoy owl-themed scavenger hunts, and pick up a free take-home craft. The day features an exciting lineup of speakers, including live bird presentations by the Ogden Nature Center and HawkWatch International, a photography workshop, and owl pellet dissections.”

2. RMPRA Winter Series Rodeo
Golden Spike Event Center, Ogden, Jan. 9-10, 7:30 p.m.
You may think of rodeo as being a summer activity, but not when you have a beautiful facility like the Golden Spike Event Center. Check out another weekend of exciting action in the arena at the RMPRA Winter Series Rodeo. The website says: “The RMPRA continues to promote the sport of rodeo by bringing together some of the best cowboys and cowgirls in the West and by offering great family entertainment in a Western setting.”

3. Moonlight Glide

North Fork Park, Liberty, Jan. 3, 6-8 p.m.
Enjoy an evening of winter fun at North Fork Park in Liberty. The event website says: “We’ll supply the hot chocolate, treats, and a fire pit to warm up by, you bring your equipment, a headlamp and the fun.” The park has 20 miles of trails for nordic skiing, snowshoeing and fat biking through hilly country, providing a variety of challenges.
