1. Lindquist Family Symphony Pops Concert and Drone Show
Weber State University, Ogden, July 12, 9-11 p.m.
The risk of fire has altered the annual concert at Weber State but it still will be an amazing evening of music and fun. The school website says: “The Lindquist Family Symphony Pops Concert has dazzled crowds and brought the community together since 1978. Held every summer at Weber State University, against the backdrop of the stunning Wasatch Mountains, this free community celebration has found a home in Ogden thanks to John A. and Telitha E. Lindquist. Nearly 50 years later, John E. Lindquist, president of Lindquist Mortuaries and Cemeteries in Ogden, proudly continues the tradition. The event features an outdoor performance by the New American Philharmonic at the iconic Ada Lindquist Plaza at the heart of campus. The performance includes Tchaikovsky’s ‘1812 Overture’ with a battery of 16 cannons provided by the Cannoneers of the Wasatch. The night will conclude with illuminated drones flying in sync to a soundtrack. Food trucks and other vendors will also be on site.”

2. The Singing Mormons
1715 W 1600 N, Layton, July 18, 7 p.m.
Celebrate the historic revival of an 1960s sensation in Denmark with the Singing Mormons, which will be performing in Layton. The group’s Facebook page says: “Telling the amazing story of the rise to fame of the Danish missionary group “The Singing Mormons” and their post-mission group “The Gentlemen of Song 1962 – 1966. We hope to make a movie about The Singing Mormons.”
