These are the best Italian restaurants in Northern Utah, according to Yelp

By Makenzie Koch/Standard-Examiner Staff - | Mar 20, 2017

It’s March 20 — happy National Ravioli Day!

Yes, there is a “holiday” for just about everything, but ravioli definitely deserves some love once in a while.

Luckily, Northern Utah has plenty of great Italian restaurants where we can celebrate this delicious holiday — or just visit because we’re craving authentic Italian food.

According to reviewers on Yelp, a website dedicated to providing reviews of restaurants and more, these are the best Italian restaurants in Weber and Davis counties.

Note: Although they are included in Yelp’s listings, restaurants that only offer pizza were not included in this list because they deserve their own, which you can find here

User reviews:

“This place is our local favorite. We also order to go when our new son won’t behave enough for us to go and sit down. This place is the best hole in the wall pizza joint. Everything is super good and worth trying. The PBR in a mason jar is always refreshing. The calzones are best here, order it when you first sit down because it takes at least 30 minutes. Only reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because even when not ordering the calzone, the service from the kitchen takes a long time. But that’s usually because it’s so busy there all the time because the food is soooo good. Keep up the good work!” — Kenny C.

2. ROVALI’S RISTORANTE ITALIANO

Rating: 4 stars with 118 reviews

Address: 174 25th St., Ogden

Hours: 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; closed Sunday.

User review:

“Wow. I would drive an hour to come back here. Tomorrow. Great wine list and spirits. Live music that is the right volume and really good. Beautiful venue. The owner brings you to the table. The waitstaff is observant and detail oriented. And the food. Dear God, the food. Everything is made in house. They had me at meatballs. The Mister had linguine and clams he claimed were better than San Fran. The rolls were amazing. As in wow I could give up a piece of my soul for this. But then. Dessert. Have you noticed that it seems like everyone is going to lava cakes? Frozen, then nuked? So tired of that. Not here. Oh no. Not here. The owner’s daughter makes all the desserts. From scratch. Like the old country And we’ve been after a good piece of chocolate cake. And we had this, and it was like the universe stopped and angels sang a little. And then we ate it. Lo carb diet be damned. Take that FrontRunner right passed Salt Lake and end up here. This is the place. Try the Cashmere.” — Tess H.

“This is a small restaurant so there may be a small wait to be seated. But it is absolutely worth it. The food here is amazing!! My girlfriends and I have been here several times. User review:

“Happened on this by chance and totally loved it! The bruschetta was delicious, we even had seconds. I had the spinach ravioli and my husband had the meat cannelloni. Both were very flavorful and made fresh. The salad was very simple and basic, but that was okay. The Italian dressing was delicious. The owners/cook/servers were very pleasant and friendly. They have been working hard at this location for 21 years. We will definitely make the effort to go back. A month later went back and was even more impressed with the food. I had a very flavorful and yummy garden fettuccine. My husband had the Chicken Parmesan.” — Debby S.

User review:

“We got military discount. Many people come and take out food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is calm and very warm. The style is like traditional Europe and class style. Food is clean, and pizza is delicious, it’s not very salty like other pizza restaurant, I think it’s traditional Italian pizza and pasta. The service is nice and friendly. But the only thing is they are in short of food servers, so take a little time to get your order. A relax place, nice.” — Angelia Y.
