The Conversation: Radical ownership

We live in a world where everything is always someone else’s fault, participation trophies are second nature and we utter subtle whispers of disdain. Ownership of the suit we live in and wear, also called the skin, should be worn with pride and one foot in front of the other because this is the only suit we are going to get.

Today’s reader is persuaded to choose the difficult conversation of personal ownership, and the prize that awaits for those who can stay in self-reflection. There is a price to pay by ignoring this conversation, and a prize to collect for those who are firm in purpose on its path. How many pieces of your personal life puzzle have you collected so far on this journey of life? Radical ownership requires a friendship with oneself that does not express harm in any form toward themselves, being impeccable with their words and accountability for every decision made.

We cannot change what already exists, but the individual who chooses value to themselves right where they are without judgment opens many doors. Radical ownership is vital to the life of its owner to which it specifically belongs and originates from the ground where the roots are.

Moving forward requires an act of humility to say I do not know what I do not know. If you are now willing to be honest with yourself with where you are with your life, the other side of the coin of ownership may reveal itself. Attainment of ownership is captured only by understanding where its source is. The rules of ownership do not change for anyone and are shown only to those who earnestly have the courage to move past their fears.

Most people have heard the voice of radical ownership but have chosen to turn the other way.

However, for those who are seeking its attributes, ownership will get your attention in a way that stirs the pot and speaks in a voice of revelation, as its truths will be shown in the way that individual needs to experience it. This will be an extremely uncomfortable process to endure.

“If you can own this story, you get to write the ending.” — Brené Brown

Taking ownership holds power within its beholder. Ownership must be practiced every day and is not for the weak of heart unless they are willing to hold their gaze upon what they might not want to see within themselves. Our power is given away if we do not own all our choices, which leaves us helpless because we cannot change anything we do not own.

Self-reflection is fleeting in the world we live in, for only through silence will we be able to shut out the noise to hear our own guidance system. Neglect this message at your own discretion only to find it to show up again at your door in old age. Our legacy is tied to what we own, and this is what we pass on to our children. Naive is the person who thinks legacy is tied to tangible assets alone. If the strength to change is not yet in your corner, then think about adopting it for the people you love because they need a person who can lead them with radical ownership.

The world deserves to get the best version of ourselves while we reside here. You and I are warranted to own what is ours in this world. With a community of like-minded individuals, together let us take one step forward each day, have a written plan for our future, ask for help when needed, while confiding and investing in ourselves. Our conversations are the places where we live and dwell and cannot be escaped, but with each new thought comes a choice to walk a different path and a piece to our puzzle of radical ownership.
