The Conversation: Moving through the dark

The beginning of each day starts in the dark, and ends in the dark. The dark reveals truth and relinquishes the sensory apparatuses, thus requiring attributes from an internal nature to guide us. That which always has been there will be seen in the light. Darkness completes and complements light, and light brings integrity to what we do not understand in the dark.
Do not judge that which you do not understand. Understanding is an attribute of the human spirit, for it directs our paths if we surrender to it. We are groomed and molded into becoming ignorant adversaries against the dark, and we teach our young to oppose a natural law of our universe.
Until one has dared to move amongst the shadows, they will not be able to guide others through its confines. The dark first acts as a guide towards the light, and should not be visited primarily to partake in recreation and escape only. Our intuition is our compass and navigation.
We are born in the dark, and we will die in the dark. How often have you come to the end of a road in your life and finally face what you have been running from, only to find out that taking ownership of your choice has liberated you and is not scary anymore?
“No matter how deep the darkness, a light will always shine.” — The Dark Knight
The days of our lives are composed of aspirations, fairytales, and adventures of the juvenile mind. What no one tells you is that life is also riddled with pain, suffering, and choice.
Fancy with darkness begins in our adolescence. The picture that is painted in our youth of the dark is one of fear and negative connotation. However, under the microscope, there is a concealed mysterious secret in what we cannot see with our eyes. In the modern world, fear is no longer an element of primitiveness, but of one’s own mind.
There is a blueprint to the life we desire, and, unfortunately, many will not take the path less traveled to the life few attain. What is being spoken about is not that of physicalities, but freedom in hearts, spirits, and mind.
The conversation is the place where one lives and dwells. Our ancestors spoke of the dark and, in fact, embraced it. Somewhere down the line, we got distracted and allowed fear to creep in where it does not belong.
The dark is one of the pillars of the human journey. Do not enter into the dark without clear intentions, support, or understanding. Not if but when the dark times come, you will know how to move through them. Are you ready to talk about the dark in your life?
“When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson
