By Staff | Oct 24, 2026

The full Northern Utah calendar of events is on L4, but here are three local events you should check out this week:

1. 2026 Annual Bison Roundup Watch Party

Antelope Island State Park, Syracuse, Oct. 24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

It’s an annual tradition to gather to see the roundup of our shaggy neighbors out at Antelope Island State Park. The park website says: “Hosted each year at Antelope Island State Park, the Bison Roundup is a primary tool utilized to help ensure the continued health of one of the nation’s largest and oldest public bison herds. To help people better understand how the bison herd is managed, you can visit Antelope Island State Park the day of the event and experience it first-hand. Registration is not required for the viewing public. Come witness a true Western experience as hundreds of horseback riders round up nearly 800 bison from around the Island and move them north into the holding corrals.”

Kim and Reggie Harris perform at the Weber State University Storytelling Festival.

2. Halloween Storytelling Spooktacular

Peery’s Egyptian Theatre, Ogden, Oct. 29, 6:30 p.m.

Halloween is a great time for scary stories and what better place to hear scary stories than at a storytelling festival? That’s why Peery’s Egyptian Theatre will be a fun place to be this week. The event website says: “Celebrating 31 Years in the Art of Storytelling. The fall festival will feature Paul Strickland with Mo Reynolds, Sam Payne, & more!” There is an encore event in Davis County on Oct. 30.

3. Dinos in the Dark

The annual Carnivore Carnival, which allows visitors to explore dinosaur replicas in the dark, returns to the George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park in Ogden.

Combine the thrills of the season with the fascination of dinosaurs and you’ve got a brilliant combination. The venue website says: “Welcome to our Annual Dinos in the Dark Event! Wear your favorite costume and join us for all sorts of tricks and treats. This event has something for everyone from treats and crafts for the little explorers to jump scares and haunted trails for those who dare…”
