Lauryn Hill, shown here in concert at Pioneer Park in Salt Lake City in 2014, will perform at the Heber City Bonanza Music Festival June 24.

Utah has held past concert series like Twilight, in Salt Lake City and Ogden, and Rooftop, in Provo, but there is a new annual bash that is not to be missed.

The state’s massive mountains can offer plenty of skiing but why not a music-camping festival? Now you can attend Heber City’s Bonanza Campout & Music Festival to tune into your favorite artists for a grand experience.

Be sure to bring your friends as “bonanza” means “something that is very valuable, profitable, or rewarding,” according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary. Bonanza’s bright colors and hammocks are not the only things that make up this event. A good reason to attend this music carnival is not only for its good tunes but its communal aspect. With all the people coming, it’s a nice way to make new friends and have a good time.

You’ll also get to experience Heber City in a different way. Plus, camping is really exciting and what’s better than to have a concert too? The atmosphere is mellow with all sorts of cool people.

The festival starts Friday, June 23, and runs all the way through June 25, at Rivers Edge. The music ranges from all sorts of genres, from Chet Faker to Lauryn Hill and Odesza, with LANY ending the day.

Get out of your comfort zone and become a social butterfly. Getting to Bonanza takes about 45 minutes from Salt Lake City to Heber. There are camping and cabin options available for a secluded stay or many hotels are around to provide shelter during the carnival too.

Ticket prices range from a general admission to a VIP pass that includes private amenities. The general tickets start at $70 per day. However, the 3-day pass totals range from $150 to $300. Parking tickets and merchandise also range from $10 to $30.

Not only will there be music but also heavenly food trucks and all sorts of entertainment and activities. So if you missed out at Coachella, be sure to check out Bonanza. Here’s the lineup:
