The future of U.S. Soccer appears to be secure after it was announced that its new state-of-the-art training facility will be constructed in Fayette County, Georgia.

The Fayette location was chosen after a lengthy and detailed examination of nine locations across the Metro Atlanta region.

Fayette County’s Trilith is more famous for being the home of Trilith Studios, a filming location for some of the biggest TV Shows and movies to come out of the U.S., including a number of Marvel movies.

Now the area will welcome some of the country’s elite soccer stars and the training complex will be created across 200 acres of land.

Trilith met the criteria demanded by U.S. Soccer’s governing body, which included easy accessibility, close proximity to Atlanta’s Airport, optimal year-round climate, and an existing and welcoming community.

Another significant reason that U.S. Soccer is setting up its training facilities in Atlanta is its close links with sponsor and National Training Center founding partner Coca-Cola.

Atlanta is the brand’s corporate hometown, making it the perfect location for

U.S. Soccer and Coca-Cola to invest in the local community. The two agreed on a long-term partnership in July and are dedicated to supporting every level of the United States international teams.

The new training center will be used as the U.S. Soccer Federation’s central hub where they will oversee everything from coaching to refereeing. The intricately planned infrastructure will provide the best training facilities and technology to improve and analyze performance.

Atlanta United’s owner and co-founder of The Home Depot, Arthur M. Blank, donated $50 million to the proposal that will see more than 12 soccer fields, and individual indoor soccer facilities for the U.S. senior men’s and women’s teams, as well as the youth sides.

The training center will be home to high-tech fitness and recovery facilities, state-of-the-art locker rooms, and a selection of meeting rooms and office space.

One of the most important aspects of this new facility is its inclusivity which will be used by the nine Extended National Teams under U.S. Soccer’s umbrella, including the Power Soccer, Deaf, and Cerebral Palsy national teams.

Concerns about the impact on the surrounding area have been calmed with assurances that surrounding natural habitats will be protected, and that energy-efficient power sources and water reclamation will be implemented.

The local community will benefit from employment opportunities with more than 400 new jobs estimated to be generated from the project.

This is a particularly exciting time for North American soccer with the 2026 World Cup being hosted across 16 cities in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

This will be the 23rd men’s World Cup and the biggest in the history of the tournament, expanding from 32 to 48 teams. The joint North American bid was up against Morocco and finished with 134 votes to Morocco’s 65.

The tournament will see the U.S. dominate the host cities with 11 locations to Mexico’s 3, and Canada’s 2.

The tournament will be a major boost to the publicity of soccer in the U.S. and the national team will be confident that they can pull off some inspirational results.

Sports fans will see the investment in new training facilities and the hosting of one of the world’s most prestigious tournaments and realize the U.S. is taking its soccer teams seriously.

Fans that want to back the U.S. to pull off one of the biggest shocks in sporting history will find the U.S. as the current twelfth favorite for the World Cup at around 33/1. To put that into perspective, that is one place ahead of 50/1 shots Croatia who finished third in the 2022 World Cup, and second in 2018.

Of course, U.S. sports fans might struggle to find soccer betting markets depending on the state they live in. However, there is a selection of reputable offshore betting operators that will provide an extensive World Cup betting market for U.S. customers.

While operating sports books in certain states are illegal, the legislation around offshore betting sites is a grey area that is not covered by existing laws. This makes it possible for licensed betting operators from elsewhere to provide a service. (Source: cryptonews.com/guides/best-offshore-betting-sites.htm)

The training facility is set to open in 2026 and U.S. Soccer will be hopeful that this is in time for the World Cup so they can set up camp and enjoy the best preparation possible for the biggest stage in soccer.
