WEBER COUNTY — You could have a lasting impact on arts, recreation, museums and parks throughout the county.

The Weber County RAMP (Recreation, Arts, Museums & Parks) Board is currently seeking four volunteers to serve three-year terms on the board — two on the Arts & Museums Board and two on the Recreation & Parks Board.

Weber County RAMP director Shelly Halacy told the Standard-Examiner board members review and make recommendations on RAMP grant requests.

“Most people love being on the RAMP Board,” she said. “The rule is you can do two terms of RAMP and the term is three years. Usually they do six years and we’ve actually had people that do their six years, take a year off, re-apply and come back and do it again because they enjoyed it so much.”

Anyone interested in applying to the board is encouraged to contact Shelly Halacy at (801) 399-8405. The deadline to apply is Aug. 23.
