WEBER COUNTY — The Weber County Sheriff’s Office has announced that two additional arrests have been made in connection with the Labor Day Weekend shooting that left one dead and a 5-year-old injured and is seeking more help from the public.

In a lengthy post on its Facebook page posted late Thursday evening, the sheriff’s office updated the public on the shooting that took the life of Jesus Cuadras Garcia.

“At approximately 1:00 AM on August 31, 2025, deputies were dispatched to reports of a shooting in the area of 9300 W 900 S in unincorporated Weber County,” the post said. “Initial reports indicated there were multiple gunshot victims. Deputies arrived to find a chaotic scene with a large gathering and multiple vehicles leaving the area. Jesus Garcia sustained a gunshot to the head, and was flown by a medical helicopter to a local hospital. A 5-year-old girl sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another adult male was shot in the shoulder, and was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

The post notes that the Weber County Sheriff’s Office detectives were joined by Weber-Metro CSI and the Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force in their investigation.

On Sept. 4, the same day that Garcia was taken off of life-support, an arrest was made in the case. The Standard-Examiner reported in September that 18-year-old Michael Gaisbaur Jr. of Perry City had been arrested and booked into jail for multiple criminal charges including Aggravated Murder, Felony Discharge of a Firearm and Obstruction of Justice. Garcia passed away the next day.

However, Thursday’s Facebook post said, through investigation, it soon became apparent there had been multiple shooters.

“Due to evidence that others were involved, the investigation continued in order to bring all suspects involved to justice,” the post said. “Weber County Sheriff’s Office detectives worked for months, often including early mornings and late nights, to investigate every avenue in this case, seek new evidence, and ensure all parties responsible are held accountable. This follow-up investigation included dozens of witness interviews, along with 52 search warrants for location data, cell phone forensic downloads, DNA and fingerprints, and residential search warrants to locate firearms, cell phones, and suspects. The Ogden-Metro SWAT Team assisted in serving 13 residential search warrants.

“Ultimately, detectives gathered enough evidence to arrest a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old male for Murder and other charges. The investigation indicated that both juveniles have connections to criminal gangs and have commonly been in possession of firearms.”

The Facebook post does not note exactly when the 15-year-old and 17-year-old individuals were arrested, and attempts to contact the Weber County Sheriff’s office to clarify the matter Friday were unsuccessful.

The post laments how 2025 has been marred by multiple deadly shootings involving youths in Weber County but praises all those who have helped in the investigation of this case.

“We are frustrated by the level of violent crime committed by juveniles in our community,” the post said. “Our hearts go out to the victims and their families. There is nothing that can ever replace a loved one, and this case will undoubtedly leave lasting emotional and physical scars. We are thankful for, and proud of, the thousands of hours of hard work of our detectives, crime scene investigators, the Weber-Morgan Homicide Task Force, and the Ogden-Metro SWAT Team.”

The Facebook post finishes by imploring anyone who may have information to reach out.

“If you were present during this incident and have so far been reluctant to come forward with information about this case, please contact the Weber County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Bureau at 801-778-6631 or Weber Area 911 Dispatch at 801-395-8221,” the post said.
