ANTELOPE ISLAND STATE PARK — If you want fresh water at Antelope Island State Park this spring, you’re going to have to bring it.

As the shoulder season approaches for area parks, Antelope Island State Park’s Facebook page announced late last month that water is shut off due to ongoing construction on the island and will be inaccessible for some time.

“Fresh water is currently UNAVAILABLE at the park due to Visitor Center construction,” the post said. “This outage is expected to last into May. Please come prepared for your visit with plenty of fresh water for you and your pup.”

Responding to inquiries in the comment section of the post, the page notes that this includes all campgrounds and dump stations, and the park noted that cottages on the island will not open until the water is turned back on. Bottled water is available for purchase at the gift shop.

Ground was broken on an expansion of the park’s visitor and learning center last July. Construction, which will expand the old 5,600-square-foot facility to over 27,000 square feet, is expected to finish in October.

Starting at $4.32/week.
