According to a press release from the Ogden Downtown Alliance this week, the Winter market will be held at Ogden Union Station every Saturday starting today from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and run six weeks through Feb. 28.
“The expanded season is expected to draw approximately 3,000 shoppers downtown each Saturday for fresh winter produce, baked goods, prepared hot foods, and handmade artisan crafts,” the release said. “The market provides critical economic support to local vendors during traditionally slower winter months.”
The market will feature more than 70 vendors each week and will also include free programming affiliated with the America 250 celebration.
“Winter Market has always been about showing up for our community year-round,” Jessica Anderson, marketing and communications manager with OCA, said in the release. “This season, we’re doubling down on that commitment while celebrating what makes Ogden strong: local farmers, growers, artisans, and the networks of people who support them.”
The release also notes that the Weber Fridge will be collecting food donations during each week’s market.
“Shoppers are encouraged to purchase fresh and packaged items at the market and drop them off at the Information Booth to help keep the community fridge stocked,” the release said. “Donations will be accepted every Saturday throughout the Winter Market season.”
The season will conclude on Feb. 28 with a community seed swap hosted in partnership with the Ogden Seed Exchange.
