Weber State University kicked off the public phase of the capitol campaign with “Amplify Live,” an evening to recognize students, faculty, alumni, and supporters on Friday, Jan. 9, 2026. By the start of the evening, Weber State had raised more than 60% of the university’s $200 million goal.

OGDEN — Weber State University kicked off its next big fundraising push earlier this month — the largest in its history.

According to a press release from WSU, the “Amplify Weber State: The Campaign for Weber State University” fundraising effort aims to bring in $200 million for investment in future students. The university launched the multiyear campaign on Jan. 9, announcing $125,574,910 is already secured toward the $200 million goal.

“Since the beginning of this institution, our supporters have stepped up again and again in ways that transform our campuses, advance student access and opportunity, and better our community overall,” Interim President Leslie Durham said in the release. “That shared success has brought us to this point, and now it’s time for an amazing next chapter.”

Rachel Badali, interim public relations director, told the Standard-Examiner on Tuesday that the Amplify campaign will be huge for future WSU students.

“This campaign is about expanding student opportunities, enhancing their experiences, and helping them succeed — all through the power of philanthropy and community support,” she said. “It’s turning up the volume on what the university already does well to make sure Wildcats are positioned for success in the coming decades.”

WSU has had great success with similar campaigns in the past.

“Dream 125: The Campaign for Weber State University,” launched publicly in January 2014, aimed to raise $125 million by the end of June 2016. Donors helped the university far surpass that goal, raising $164,392,217.21.

“Amplify is even more ambitious, making it the largest fundraising campaign in the university’s history,” Badali said.

She said the initial $125 million announced during the public unveiling was the result of years of work with donors to set the foundation for the Amplify campaign.

“Over the past several years, the university has been working with donors — alumni, community members, foundations and other supporters — who are excited about WSU’s mission,” she said. Their generosity has built momentum and excitement, putting the campaign well on its way to meeting that $200 million goal.”

Badali said the funds raised will go a long way toward helping the university in its mission.

“Scholarships, programs, faculty support, equipment upgrades, facility improvements and so much more that’ll benefit students,” she said. “The focus will be on high-priority programs that boost opportunities, increase access, elevate learning and build community.”

She added that every donation helps bring organizers closer to the $200 million goal.

“Future efforts will remind the community of their collective power, as well as provide opportunities to learn more or invest in the future of students,” she said. “There’s a real sense of pride and energy as people recognize how they could be part of shaping the community and beyond.”

Badali said the Amplify campaign is expected to end in 2028.
