According to a press release from the Ogden City Fire Department, a fire was reported at a residence in the 1700 block of Valley Drive around 10:45 p.m. Thursday.

“Upon arrival, fire crews observed heavy smoke coming from the front of the residence,” the release said. “First-arriving crews initiated an interior fire attack and conducted a primary search of the structure. No occupants were located inside the home, and the primary search was reported all clear. The Red Cross is providing assistance to the home’s sole occupant.”

The release adds that fire investigators are still looking into what caused the fire and that damages to the structure are estimated at around $120,000.

The South Ogden Fire Department also provided mutual aid during the incident.
