Serious injuries reported in two-vehicle accident Saturday; impairment suspected

OGDEN — Impairment is suspected in an accident that sent three people to the hospital Saturday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Ogden City Police Department, officers responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of 17th Street and Washington Boulevard around 3:53 p.m. Saturday.

“A blue Honda Civic, driven by an adult male, was traveling northbound on Washington Boulevard when it entered the intersection against a red light and struck a white Toyota Camry,” the release said. “The Toyota Camry was driven by an adult male and had one passenger.

“Based on the initial investigation, officers determined that impairment appears to be a contributing factor in the crash. Due to the seriousness of the collision, the Weber-Morgan Metro CRASH Team was deployed. The investigation into impairment and the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing.”

The release adds that serious injuries were reported among all parties involved.

“The driver and passenger of the Toyota Camry were transported by ambulance to a local hospital,” the release said. “The driver of the Honda Civic was transported to a local hospital by a friend. At this time, all injured individuals are reported to be in stable condition.”
