Emergency lightsOGDEN — Several people were injured following a vehicle-pedestrian crash on Airport Road Saturday evening.
According to a press release from the Ogden Police Department, “on July 4, 2026, officers were dispatched to 4400 Airport Rd on the report of an auto-ped involving multiple juvenile victims being pinned between two vehicles, and the suspect was trying to leave the scene. Multiple witnesses prevented the suspect from leaving before police arrived.”
Officers from Ogden, Riverdale, Roy and the Utah Highway Patrol encountered a very large crowd of spectators gathered to view fireworks near Riverdale City’s popular Fourth of July show.
Sgt. Dallon Webb of the Ogden City Police Department clarified that the call came in around 10:20 p.m.
“Medical units from Ogden, Riverdale, and Roy arrived and began triaging the victims,” the release said. “The investigation revealed the suspect was attempting to leave the parking lot in a Grey GMC truck and struck a white Dodge Charger that was in a parking stall. The suspect vehicle’s front bumper struck the driver’s door of the Dodge Charger and pinned several juveniles who were standing around the vehicle. The suspect vehicle then backed up and tried to leave, but several witnesses banged on the truck’s window to get the suspect to stop. They eventually broke several windows to gain access to the driver.”
The release notes that five juveniles were transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from scrapes to broken bones. One 11-year-old female was life-flighted from McKay-Dee Hospital to Primary Children’s Hospital with a broken pelvis.
The suspect was transported to the hospital for observation and eventually arrested for felony DUI involving injury and priors.
The names of the victims and the suspect have not been released at this time and the release said that more information will be released as it becomes available.
