According to a press release from the Ogden City Police Department received late Tuesday evening, a report of a plane crash was received at 12:59 p.m. Tuesday.
“Upon arrival, officers, along with personnel from the Ogden Fire Department, located a single-engine crop duster aircraft that had crashed on Runway 3,” the release said. “Thankfully, the pilot, who was the only occupant of the aircraft, was able to exit the plane and was not seriously injured. As a precaution, the pilot was transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The Ogden Fire Department secured the scene due to a potential fuel spill and worked to ensure the area was safe. Airport operations were temporarily impacted while emergency crews responded.”
The release noted that the FAA has been notified and will be responsible for investigating the cause of the crash.
“At this time, the cause remains under investigation,” the release said. “We are thankful to our officers, the airport staff, Ogden Fire Department, and other partners who acted quickly to stabilize the incident and ensure the safety of our community.”
No further details were available as of Tuesday evening.
