PINEVIEW RESERVOIR — A falling tree caused life-threatening injuries to a teen at Pineview Reservoir on Saturday.
According to a press release sent out by the Weber County Sheriff’s Office late Monday afternoon, deputies were summoned to a report of a traumatic injury in which a tree had fallen on a 13-year-old female in the area of Quist Beach at Pineview Reservoir around 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
“The first deputy on scene provided lifesaving efforts with the assistance of family and bystanders until Weber Fire District personnel arrived and took over patient care,” the release said. “The juvenile was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but is not expected to survive her injuries. Other children received non-life-threatening injuries.”
The press release did not elaborate on how many other people were injured.

We are thankful for the efforts of our deputies, family, bystanders, and EMS personnel who worked quickly to do everything they could to try to save this juvenile’s life.”
