UDOT announces temporary closures along I-15 in Riverdale, Farmington

A map of closures and detours along I-15 in Riverdale related to construction set for March 13-15, 2026.The Utah Department of Transportation is warning drivers they may have some construction closures to contend with along I-15 this weekend.
According to a press release from UDOT received Thursday morning, I-15 will be closed near 4400 South and the Ogden-Hinckley Airport Friday night into Saturday morning to allow crews to install the steel support beams for the new 4400 South bridge.
According to the release, the closures are as follows:
- “On Friday, March 13, northbound I-15 will be closed from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 14. All lanes will reopen by 9 a.m. During this time, northbound I-15 traffic will be detoured onto Riverdale Road and then to northbound Interstate 84.
- On Saturday, March 14, southbound I-15 will be closed at 10:30 p.m. One lane in each direction will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, March 15, and all lanes will reopen by 11 a.m. Southbound traffic will exit I-15 at 4400 South (Exit 340), use Riverdale Road and then reenter southbound I-15 during this time.”
In a separate action, I-15 will be reduced to one lane in each direction on Friday night between Glovers Lane and Park Lane. The closures will begin at 8 p.m. Friday with all lanes being reopened by 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
“Crews will be pouring concrete for a new pedestrian bridge deck as part of the Shepard Lane Improved project,” the release said. “The project includes a new interchange, a 10-foot-wide shared-use trail, new sidewalks and a pedestrian bridge.”
This project is expected to finish by the end of the year.
