No injuries reported, pets saved during structure fire in Hooper

HOOPER — No injuries were reported following a blaze Thursday evening in Hooper.

According to a post on the Weber Fire District Facebook page, several departments were summoned to a structure fire in Hooper around 8:15 p.m Thursday.

“Crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the garage,” the post said. “Firefighters initiated a quick fire attack; however, the fire extended into the home, causing significant structural damage. The homeowners evacuated safely. Crews were able to rescue multiple cats, along with some sentimental items.”

The post added that a cause is unknown at this time.

“The scene was turned over to the Weber Fire District Fire Marshal’s Office for investigation,” the post said. “Estimated damages are approximately $650,000+. The investigation remains ongoing.”

Several area departments assisted the Weber Fire District Thursday night, including Roy City Fire, Clinton City Fire, Hill Air Force Base Fire. and the Weber County Sheriff’s Office.
