No explosives found after bomb threat evacuates West Haven business Tuesday

A Utah Department of Transportation traffic camera captures a major law enforcement response in West Haven after a business was mailed a bomb threat on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026.WEST HAVEN — No explosives or other suspicious items were found after a bomb threat was delivered to a business in West Haven Tuesday morning.
Lt. Sean Endsley of the Weber County Sheriff’s Office told the Standard-Examiner that law enforcement was summoned to a business in the 2300 block of 1900 West around 9:03 a.m. Tuesday morning.
“A local business contacted dispatch after receiving a bomb threat in the form of a letter,” he said. “Deputies responded, and based on the nature of the threat and the information in it, evacuated the business. Once the business was evacuated, deputies along with the Davis County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad and some explosive detection dogs from our office and from UTA Police then began sweeping the business. They did not locate any suspicious items or any explosives.”
He said during this time, 1900 West between 21st Street and 2550 South was shut down in both directions as a precaution. After a few hours and the conclusion of the search, the road reopened and the business went back to normal operations.
“Right now, there is a follow-up investigation being done into a possible suspect, but we are confident that there’s no local threat or ongoing threat to the public,” Endsley said.
He said that the Weber County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Davis County Sheriff’s Office bomb squad, Utah Transit Authority Police, Utah Highway Patrol, Weber Fire District, the Utah Highway Patrol, Utah Department of Transportation and the Weber Metro CSI.
