PLEASANT VIEW — A Weber County producer of precision-machine components has finished an expansion of its Pleasant View facility, meant to help the firm keep pace with growing demand.

JD Machine, which moved in 2009 from the Weber Industrial Park to larger digs nearby on North Parkland Boulevard, has kept growing, and it completed an expansion on Friday of its 9-year-old Pleasant View plant. Per the upgrade, the company’s manufacturing facility was expanded from 44,000 square feet to 70,000 square feet.

“This expansion will enable us to continue to grow to meet the needs of our customers,” Matt Wardle, JD Machine’s president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. Using “the latest technology,” he continued, “brings out the best in our organization.”

The firm, established in 1979, had a dozen employees as of the early 1990s and has expanded dramatically since then. “We just hit 200 team members, we are always looking for new team members and this will increase as we continue to add new technology,” Maddie Dahl, a marketing specialist with the firm, said.

JD Machine makes precision-machined components for the medical device, aerospace, mining, defense and communications industries, among others. “Many of our customers have been increasing their orders with us, and we were fortunate enough to be able to expand to be a better partner for them,” Dahl said.
