The Utah Department of Workforce Services’ Administrative Offices stands Thursday, March 26, 2020, in Salt Lake City.

The Utah Department of Workforce Services is calling on all job seekers to attend its statewide virtual job fair on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. More than 60 Utah employers, hiring for thousands of open positions across the state, will be participating in the free online event.

Job openings can be found in many industries, including retail, health care, transportation, government and aerospace.

Workforce Development Division Director Liz Carver said employers are looking to hire for seasonal workers in addition to full-time and part-time positions.

“Seasonal work is a great opportunity for job seekers to explore different industries, get their foot in the door for future full-time work or make extra cash,” Carver said.

The virtual hiring event provides job seekers an opportunity to share resumes, live chat with hiring representatives and schedule interviews.

Those looking to participate will need to pre-register at jobs.utah.gov by creating an account or signing in to “My Job Search.”

Upon logging in on Thursday morning, job seekers will be directed to a digital floor plan with rows of booths representing employers. Clicking on a booth allows participants to view company profiles and current job openings.

While the online platform is designed with navigational simplicity in mind, DWS is offering an online workshop on Wednesday to help job seekers get the most out of their virtual job fair experience.

A complete list of employers participating in the event can be found at jobs.utah.gov, as well as an upwards of 75,000 job openings statewide.
