Election workers await voters at the Weber Center in Ogden on Friday, Oct. 29, 2021.

OGDEN — Tuesday is Election Day — the deadline is here to cast ballots in the mayoral and city council races around Weber County.

In-person voting starts at 7 a.m. and goes until 8 p.m. at the Weber Center, 2380 Washington Blvd. in Ogden, where county offices, including the Weber County Elections Office, are located. Voters also have until 8 p.m. Tuesday to drop ballots off at any of several drop boxes around the county, including a new drive-up drop box at the Weber Center parking lot.

Don’t drop ballots in mailboxes on Tuesday for delivery by the U.S. Postal Service, though. They had to be postmarked by Monday if they were sent via traditional mail. At any rate, the vast majority of Weber County voters typically cast their ballots before Election Day.

At stake are four Ogden City Council posts, the at-large A and B seats and the Districts 1 and 3 posts. Several mayoral seats are also up for grabs, including the leadership posts in West Haven and other locales, along with numerous city council slots across the county.

According to Weber County Election Office figures through last Friday, turnout has been light in several locales. In Roy, turnout among registered voters reached 13.3%, lowest among the county’s 15 cities. Next lowest was Ogden, with 14.2% turnout. Highest turnout was in Huntsville, 35.4%, followed by Uintah, 22.6%.

Preliminary, unofficial results will be posted Tuesday night on the Weber County Elections Office website. Mail-in ballots will continue to arrive past Tuesday, though, and those will later be added to the preliminary totals in reaching final figures.
