OGDEN — The new year has officially brought changes to the Ogden City Council. On Tuesday, council members Angela Choberka and Ken Richey were chosen to leadership positions for 2023.

Choberka, entering her sixth year as a member of the Ogden City Council, had been named the new chair, replacing Ben Nadolski. Richey, the newest member of the council after being elected in 2021 to represent District Three, has been named the vice chair.

While Richey is serving in a leadership role for the first time, Choberka previously served as chair in 2020 and vice chair in 2019.

Choberka thanked her fellow council members and constituents for their support, saying she is happy to serve as chair for the next year.

After taking the oath of office, Richey said he feels he could support every council member in his new role on the body. “Every single council member is somebody that I love and respect,” he said.
