US Senate hopeful Brad Wilson to address GOP group in Ogden
OGDEN — U.S. Senate hopeful Brad Wilson will be making a public appearance in Ogden.
The Republican candidate is to address the Weber County Republican Women at a gathering Monday at noon at the Weber County Sheriff’s Office Training Building, 1400 Depot Drive. The building sits northwest of the main sheriff’s office building and Monday’s event is open to the public.
Wilson is one of several candidates vying for the seat now held by U.S. Sen. Mitt Romney, who’s not seeking reelection. Wilson is still speaker of the Utah House until Wednesday, when he formally steps down to pursue his U.S. Senate bid in earnest.
Among the other hopefuls in the 2024 U.S. Senate contest are Roosevelt Mayor Rod Bird, Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs, Gabriel Lobo-Blanco, Ty Jensen, Joshua Randall and Carolyn Phippen, according to the U.S. Federal Election Commission website. They are all Republicans.
