As of election night, Myers was leading the Seat C race with 5,837 votes (61.08%) versus J. Levi Andersen’s 3,720 votes (38.92%). Graf, with 2,055 votes (52.50%), was ahead of challenger Steven Van Wagoner, who had 1,859 votes (47.50%), in the District 4 race. 

Weber County Clerk Ricky Hatch said roughly 86% of the ballots have been counted and that all but a few would be counted by Wednesday night

Both the District 4 and at-large seats were guaranteed to see new faces after this election as Councilperson Ben Nadolski (District 4) opted to run for mayor in 2023 and Councilperson Luis Lopez (at-large Seat C) chose not to seek reelection this year.

District 2’s incumbent, Councilperson Richard Hyer, was the sole filing in his district and automatically retained his position.

“I am happy for the opportunity to serve on the Ogden City Council for the next four years,” he said in a statement to the Standard-Examiner. “Having been born and raised in Ogden, UT, and having spent my entire life here, I have developed a deep love and commitment to our community and its great people. My extensive involvement in local governance, including several years on the planning commission and consecutive terms on the City Council, has provided me with a unique perspective and a solid understanding of the issues facing our city.”

Tuesday’s results come on the heels of an eventful election season.

Andersen and Myers emerged from a primary race that sported four total candidates. When the primary votes were tallied up, the at-large Seat C race was originally set between Myers and Lara Gale. However, within days of the primary, Gale withdrew from the race due to a new professional opportunity before the election results could be canvased. As a result, Andersen, who had finished in third place, suddenly found himself in the race for the general election.

Van Wagoner and Graf, meanwhile, emerged from a District 4 primary race of five total contenders.

The results of this election will be canvassed at a City Council meeting Dec. 5.
