OGDEN — After months of prep work and feedback, Ogden City has a template to spend its money in the coming fiscal year.

During its meeting Tuesday, the Ogden City Council voted to adopt the budget for fiscal year 2026, lasting from July 1 through, June 30, 2026. The $289.8 million budget included no increases to property taxes.

According to a city press release on the budget, a major focus was on the city’s employees.

“A primary focus of this year’s budget was to continue offering competitive wages to city employees,” the release said. “The FY26 Budget includes a 2.97% cost-of-living-adjustment (COLA) for all employees. Additionally, sworn public safety employees in the Fire and Police departments will receive a 4% step increase on their employment anniversary. Non-sworn employees can receive up to a 2% merit increase.”

Ogden Mayor Ben Nadolski said this budget accomplishes many of his goals.

“I committed to thoroughly reviewing and refining the city’s budget to better align with the needs, services, and priorities of my administration, and we accomplished this without raising taxes,” he said in the release. “I am committed to continually transitioning our administration and financial planning toward greater efficiency, improved service delivery, and measurable results.”

The release also noted several major projects that reportedly will benefit from the passage of the new budget.

“The FY26 Budget funds 42 Capital Improvement Projects, including street maintenance, park improvements, and the newly rebuilt Marshall N. White Community Center,” the release stated. “Other highlights include airport terminal upgrades, Valley Drive improvements, and new pickleball courts at Lester Park.”
