Sunset's Mental Health Craft Fair is set for Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023, and it will go from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

SUNSET — A mental health fair is set for Saturday in Sunset, giving participants a chance to get information on mental health issues, eat and peruse crafts.

“Instead of a traditional wellness fair, it creates a nice, welcoming space for everyone to talk about mental health and have a bit of fun while doing it,” said Nakisha Rigley, a member of the Sunset City Council who helped organize the event, now in its third year.

The Sunset Mental Health Craft Fair goes from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and will be held at Sunset Central Park at 85 W. 1800 North. Reps from 30 nonprofit groups, nearly 60 vendors and 13 food trucks are expected. According to a flier on the free event, there will be therapy dogs, live music, “speed painting” classes, hands-on arts and crafts, local mental health resources and more.

The aim of the event is to bring together mental health resources from Northern Utah and local artisans of all types “because mental health and creativity go hand in hand,” Rigley said.

The event, which has grown since its inception, is sponsored by the I See You! Foundation and put on by the City of Sunset.

Starting at $4.32/week.
