OGDEN — Funeral services for Connecticut elementary shooting victim Emilie Parker will be held in Ogden on Saturday.

Emilie, whose family has Ogden roots, was one of 20 children and six adult victims killed in a Dec. 14 mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn.The shooting took the lives of 26 people, before the gunman took the gun on himself upon hearing police responding.

Emilie’s funeral will be 10 a.m., Dec. 22 at the Rock Cliff LDS Stake Center, 1000 Suncrest Drive. The church building is just north of Ben Lomond High School, according to Curtis Smout, general manager for Myers Mortuary.

The viewing for Emilie will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at the Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden.

The mortuary is still waiting for the family to finalize an obituary for the services, Smout said. But an obituary, he said, is expected to be published sometime either on Thursday, Dec. 20, or Friday, Dec. 21, he said.

The obituary is to be finalized upon the family arriving in town, Smout said.
