FRUIT HEIGHTS — Jennie Webb Wahlstrom was the kind of woman who would do anything for anyone who was in need, her LDS bishop said.

“Jennie and Nathan are the type of people that if you get into their web, you are surrounded by joy and delight,” said Howard Field, the bishop for the Fruit Heights LDS Fourth Ward.

Jennie Wahlstrom of Fruit Heights died on Monday after the motorcycle she and her husband, Nathan Wahlstrom, went off the road and traveled about 60 feet down a steep embankment. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nathan Wahlstrom returned home on Thursday. Field said Nathan only suffered cuts and bruises from the accident. Neither had been wearing a helmet. The crash occurred after a car had crossed the center lane and Nathan Wahlstrom, who was driving the motorcycle, swerved to avoid the car. Original reports said Nathan Wahlstrom had suffered broken legs and back injuries.

The couple have four children, Field said.

Field said the family is now working on funeral arrangements for Jennie Wahlstrom, who served as the ward Primary president for the past few years.

“This is a real tragedy for our ward,” Field said. “She was loved by everyone who met her.”

The Walstroms are not new to tragedy.

Nathan Wahlstrom’s grandmother, Mary Alice Wahlstrom, and his aunt, Carolyn Beug, were killed when American Airlines Flight 11 flew into the World Trade Center at 8:47 a.m. Sept. 11, 2001.

Jennie Wahlstrom’s sister, Katie Webb, died in 2006, at the age of 23.

Jennie Wahlstrom’s parents are John and Sharon Webb.
