Conklin named district judge in Ogden
SALT LAKE CITY — The governor has named Catherine S. Conklin as his nominee to fill a coming vacancy in Ogden’s 2nd District Court.Conklin currently serves as a domestic relations commissioner in the Ogden courthouse, a position she’s held since 2007.”Catherine possesses both outstanding skills and a breadth of practice areas that will make her an asset to the bench,” said Gov. Gary Herbert in announcing his selection of Conklin. “She has demonstrated a commitment to serving the people of Utah and will now do so as a judge.”Conklin earned her law degree from Hastings College of Law at University of California in 1996. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Weber State University in 1991, graduating magna cum laude. Conklin is appointed to the position held by Judge Michael D. Lyon who will retire September 1, 2013. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Utah State Senate.
