FARMINGTON – Summer is still half a year away, but roller coaster junkies and Lagoon lovers are getting excited about the upcoming ride Cannibal and are itching to try it out. 

This is the first roller coaster of its size that Lagoon has built from the ground up.

An online video popped up early last week showing a computer 3-D simulation of what it might be like to ride the roller coaster — and it looks pretty amazing. The creator of the video says they made the video in a computer program and based it off of pictures, stats and rumors of Cannibal, which is still under construction. 

LagoonIsFun.com, a fan site to the amusement park, reported a long list of facts and statistics on the ride in September. These facts are also shared in the video.

• Track Length: 2,735 Feet
• Ride Time: 2 ½ minutes
• Maximum G Force: 4.2 G’s
• Maximum Speed: 70 miles per hour
• Maximum Inverted Loop: 140 Feet Tall
• Riders Per Car: 12
• Rider Capacity Per Hour: 1,200
• Minimum Height to Ride: 46 to 48 inches, to be determined
• Budget: $22 Million

As construction continues on, local thrill-seekers are getting more and more excited.
