The Ogden City Fire Marshal has set restrictions on fireworks and open flames in certain areas of the city, due to hot and dry weather this summer.

As July 4th, 2016, approaches, it’s just about time to celebrate our country by lighting up the night sky with fireworks. This revered national pastime often brings neighborhoods and communities together, but residents of Weber County should be aware of restrictions dictating the use of fireworks around the area.

City and fire officials across the county encourage people to use good judgment with fireworks. Many also said residents should put used fireworks in small buckets of water before discarding them and have water on hand while they discharge fireworks.

Below are the restrictions, rules and laws regulating the use of fireworks in Weber County, based on information provided by municipalities and fire districts.

WHEN YOU CAN SHOOT FIREWORKS

Times and dates provided for the discharge of fireworks are regulated by state code and the Utah State Fire Marshal.

Fireworks can be shot off from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. July 1-3 and July 5-7. They can be discharged from 11 a.m. to midnight July 4.
