OGDEN — An art show by a contingent of Ben Lomond High School students, “Solitude in the making,” is on display this month at Union Station.

“‘What would you want to share with the Ogden community?’ That is the question students were asked in the Art 1010 class at Ben Lomond High School back in September,” the students said in a statement about the show. Their teacher is Erica Lyon, an art instructor at the high school.

The results are on display for the month of December inside Myra Powell Gallery at Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave. The display opened on Dec. 3 during the First Friday Art Stroll.

The works represent the young artists’ personal experiences and show “reflections about age, life and change that are unique to each one,” says the statement.

The students met with Holly Andrew, the curator of Myra Powell Gallery, as part of the process, in addition to classroom instruction. “The artists hope you are able to make a connection with their pieces and gain inspiration from their art,” reads the statement.
