NORTH OGDEN — Two people were injured Thursday night when their car rolled off the North Ogden Divide Road, the Weber County Sheriff’s Office said.

The car fell 100 feet from the roadway, landing on its top, according to a news release. The sheriff’s office said it appeared the driver, a 19-year-old man, lost control on the winding road and the car crossed the oncoming lane before rolling off the road.

The driver was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries after the 9:39 p.m. crash. His passenger, a 20-year-old woman, had to be extricated from the wreckage. She was hospitalized with a severe back injury.

The sheriff’s office said sheriff’s deputies, bystanders and crews from the Weber Fire District and the North View Fire District worked to help the crash victims.

The Weber Area CRASH Team is assisting in the investigation, the sheriff’s office said.
