OGDEN — The Thai Wat Chaimongkolvararam temple is inviting the public to visit Sunday for lunch in support of ongoing construction.

Thai food, donated by local restaurants, will be served from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the temple, located at 402 Wall Ave.

Lunch is free and any donations made will go toward completing the temple, which is being funded entirely by public contributions.

The Buddhist temple opened in 2017, nearly a decade after the temple president, Venerable Phramaha Suphat Sukyai, said they began city paperwork and permitting in 2008.

Completion of the temple will take a couple more years, Sukyai said, but they will continue to open their doors to the community in the meantime.
