The Stage 1 Fire Restriction Order issued on Monday also affects the city of Uintah and parts of West Haven. Per the ban, no fireworks will be allowed and open fires are only permitted in public facilities in approved campgrounds and picnic areas, among other things.

“Conditions vary greatly throughout Weber County, and it is important that everyone use good judgment when deciding to have a campfire in an approved fire pit. If a campfire gets out of control and creates a wildland fire, the individuals responsible for the fire may be held responsible for the costs associated with fighting the fire,” Weber County said in a statement.

The Utah State Division of Forestry Fire and State Lands in cooperation with Weber Fire District enacted the new restrictions. Fireworks bans were already in effect along the East Bench of Ogden and in the northern, more mountainous areas of North Ogden and Pleasant View.

July 4 has come and gone, but discharge of fireworks is also popular on Pioneer Day, which is Sunday but to be recognized on Monday.
