OGDEN — A new community group is hosting a gathering to collect back-to-school supplies for those in need.

Free skating at Neptune Skating Rink in Ogden is also part of the deal. The Four 1 & All’s Night of Nostalgia, as it’s dubbed, goes from 6 p.m. to midnight on Friday at Neptune, located at 2770 Washington Blvd. in Ogden.

“We’re trying to focus on serving the underserved community,” said Lorenzo Gutierrez, who helps lead Four 1 & All. The group is seeking donations of backpacks at the event, featuring free skating and free skate rentals.

Additionally, the group, teaming with the Ogden Jets, among others, will host a free back-to-school haircut night on Aug. 14 from 5-8 p.m. at Jets offices at 2563 Monroe Blvd. “This event will be another opportunity to drop off school backpacks and school supplies for the students in the Ogden community,” reads a Four 1 & All statement.

The donations gathered will be distributed on Aug. 15 from 3-7 p.m. at the offices of Youth Impact, which provides after-school programming and other services geared to youth, at 2305 Grant Ave.

Those unable to take part in the events on Friday and Aug. 14 may also drop off donations directly at the Youth Impact offices or at Path Forward Utah’s office at 2351 Grant Ave., Suite 102. Please call ahead to schedule a time for drop off at 801-792-2944 or 801-920-3814.
