Fireworks stands — such as this one at the intersection of 2nd Street, Washington Boulevard and N Harrisville Road pictured Friday, June 30, 2023, in Ogden — are dotting the landscape in anticipation of the Fourth of July. But for those who want a less DIY approach to the holiday, several activities will be available throughout the region this weekend and into the holiday.

Flyovers and fireworks are set to punctuate Weber County’s celebration of the Independence Day holiday.

Hill Air Force Base

Hill Air Force Base is once again set to provide skyward entertainment for communities throughout the region Tuesday.

According to a press release, the 419th Fighter Wing will continue its tradition of flyovers above Northern Utah communities.

“Utahns may catch a glimpse of four F-35A Lightning II jets as they make their way to events in Vernal and Park City,” the release said. “Or catch them as the aircrafts fly across the Wasatch Front, to include the Salt Lake City area, beginning around 9:00 a.m. and landing just after 11:15 a.m.”

The flyover tradition has been a part of the Fourth of July for more than 30 years.

“Flying the jets will be Maj. James Rosenau, Maj. Daniel Huber, Maj. Daniel Toftness and Maj. Christopher Collins, who have a combination of over 10,000 flying hours throughout their military careers,” the release continues. “Also working that day to make the flyovers happen are more than 40 maintainers and support personnel from the 419th FW and active duty 388th FW.”

Flyover times are as follows:
