OGDEN — A 54-year-old motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Friday at the intersection of Wall Avenue and Ninth Street in Ogden, according to the Ogden Police Department.

A male motorist in a passenger car was southbound on Wall Avenue when he turned left to go east on Ninth Street, reportedly not seeing an oncoming motorcyclist. The man operating the motorcycle, who was northbound on Wall, struck the car during its turn.

The motorcyclist sustained “major injuries” and was transported to a hospital for treatment, where he died, according to a press release from the police department.

The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Friday. “There is no impairment suspected at this time,” and police continue to investigate, according to the police statement.

A 64-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash Monday afternoon in Ogden and later died. That accident occurred at the intersection of 21st Street and Lincoln Avenue. Officials said they didn’t suspect impairment in that crash either.
