OGDEN -- Community Christmas, partnering with the Ogden-Weber Community Action Partnership and the Ogden School District, seeks donations for kids and families in need during the holiday season.

More specifically, the organization seeks local businesses to host "giving trees" containing tags identifying suggested items that the public can donate for the cause. It also seeks private donations of toys, clothing, blankets, winter clothes or cash, OWCAP said in a press release.

"Our most needed items are usually those for pre-teens -- larger-sized clothing and shoes, sporting equipment and things 10- to 13-year-olds would like," said Tami McBride, Community Christmas event organizer. Items for infants on up to 18-year-olds, though, are accepted but must be donated by Dec. 7.

To donate money or for more information, visit the Community Christmas website, communitychristmasut.org. To make donations of toys, gifts or money, visit OWCAP at 3159 Grant Ave. in Ogden. To sponsor a giving tree, email communitychristmasgivingtrees@gmail.com.

The items will be donated to ticketed participants on Dec. 9, according to the Community Christmas website.
