OGDEN — A winter staple is about to return as the season progresses toward its later stages.

According to a press release from the Ogden Downtown Alliance, the Winter Market by Farmers Market Ogden will return for four weeks starting Saturday.

The Winter Market will run every Saturday in February at Ogden Union Station from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Welcoming over 40 vendors this year, the market expands the range of local goods available in Downtown Ogden,” the release said. “With offerings ranging from freshly baked bread to honey and butter, the selection includes a diverse array of products.”

Jessica Anderson, marketing and communications manager with Ogden Downtown Alliance, told the Standard-Examiner that there will be a shift in emphasis with this year’s Winter Markets.

“It’s heavily focused on food and produce — 70% of our vendors are farmers and producers, 17% are artisans and crafters and 10% are food trucks,” she said. “We have a vendor that will have citrus fruits there, which is really exciting, because that’s not typical for the winter.”

She said it’s usually been a bit more balanced between food vendors and art vendors in the past.

“We’re just excited to bring all of our vendors back for another season,” she said.

In addition to sales, local entertainment also will be provided in the form of Zach Petersen and Love Juliet this Saturday.

The press release also says yoga will be available during the Winter Market.

“Weekly community yoga classes will be held upstairs in the Wattis Dumke Room beginning at 10:00 a.m. when the market opens,” the release said. “Yoga participants will need to bring their own mat.”
