Weber State University Presidential Search Committee to host public input sessions in January
OGDEN — The Weber State University Presidential Search Committee will be seeking the public’s help in picking its new president in the New Year.
According to a press release from the Utah System of Higher Education Thursday, the committee will host two public events — one in-person and one virtually — in January 2026. The first input session will be held in=person on WSU’s campus Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, from 3-4:30 p.m. at Lindquist Hall. Parking will be free after 2 p.m. that day and the closest parking lots are noted as A1 and W10. The virtual session will follow on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2026, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Zoom. Faculty, staff, students, alumni and community members are all encouraged to participate.
“Input from the campus community and the public is essential as we work to identify the right leader for Weber State University,” Javier Chavez Jr., co-chair of the presidential search committee, said in the release. “Our priority is selecting a highly qualified president who will continue advancing Weber State’s mission while supporting affordable, high-quality education that serves students and Utah’s communities.”
The press release notes that the input received from these public sessions will help shape the presidential leadership profile that will be included in the official job posting and guide the committee’s search efforts.
“We are approaching this search with a shared commitment to Weber State University’s future,” Ally Isom, co-chair of the presidential search committee, said in Thursday’s release. “Community input will be critical as we look for a president who can build upon Weber State’s successes and meet the evolving needs of the region.”
