IRON COUNTY — A body found last month in Southern Utah’s Cedar Canyon has been identified as that of a 60-year-old Ogden-area woman.

According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, the deceased woman was identified as Anne Yvette Rochelle from Roy. Investigators determined her death to be the result of natural causes.

Rochelle’s body was discovered and reported to area law enforcement on the evening of June 27. Per a sheriff’s office release, the body was found beneath a bush along Coal Creek, between mileposts 3 and 4 on state Route 14 in Cedar Canyon. Police said they did not consider the death suspicious.

Jamie Player, Rochelle’s daughter, honored her mother in a social media post following the official release of her identity.

“She was born and raised here in Ogden and spent her life living in the surrounding areas,” Player wrote. “She was known locally for being one of the first women to join the trucking industry and her ability to operate anything from a dump truck to a grain train and dry vans and flatbeds. She worked for multiple local trucking companies and owned her own operation, Three Gals Trucking.”

Player added that Rochelle had worked extensively with community programs like Cottages of Hope and People Helping People since retiring.

Following the discovery of her body, the Iron County Sheriff’s Office thanked its deputies, the Utah Highway Patrol, the Office of the Medical Examiner and the Cedar Fire Department for their contributions to its recovery and subsequent investigative efforts. On Tuesday, the agency extended its condolences to Rochelle’s family and friends.

A GoFundMe crowdfunding campaign to assist the family with funeral and burial expenses, transportation and memorial arrangements is live at https://gofund.me/b97922dd.
