According to a statement released by Chief Casey Warren, Riverdale police officers along with the Weber County Search and Rescue team located the body of Edward Bovero submerged in the water while searching in the area of the Riverdale Parkway.

Bovero’s family had reported him missing Monday morning, according to an earlier statement, and were concerned for his safety because of the weather conditions, his age and “his physical and mental state.” Police issued a Silver Alert early in the afternoon, reporting that he was dependent on oxygen but didn’t have medical equipment with him.

Bovero’s cause of death is under investigation, but at this time there is no suspicion of foul play, the second statement said.

“Riverdale Police Department expresses our deepest condolences to the family,” Warren said in announcing the death.
