According to a press release from the Ogden Downtown Alliance, Farmers Market Ogden is set to kick off its summer season on Historic 25th Street on Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. The market will be held at this time each Saturday through mid-September.

“Market-goers can browse a weekly rotation of nearly 200 vendors offering farm-fresh produce, artisanal breads, handmade goods, jewelry, and a diverse mix of cultural cuisines,” the release said. “Visitors are also encouraged to explore the locally owned shops, galleries, and restaurants along Historic 25th Street and throughout downtown Ogden, making a full day out of their market experience.”

Jessica Anderson, marketing and communications manager for the Ogden Downtown Alliance, told the Standard-Examiner on Tuesday that there will be a couple new additions this year.

“Some of our vendors will be launching Ogden exclusive on their menus or for their product lineups,” she said.

One example she listed was from a booth named Lemonade Lush which will be introducing an “Ogden exclusive” drink called an “Ogden Sunrise.”

Anderson added that won’t be the only addition to Farmers Market Ogden this year.

“There’s also going to be a new ‘Kids Curiosity Corner’ hosted by Ogden Nature Center,” she said. “Every week, there will be a new nature-based activity in the municipal park that will be really fun and exciting for children.”

She added that Farmers Market Ogden is always a huge addition to the downtown space as a whole.

“I think a lot of people are looking to get out downtown after these colder winter months,” she said. “Farmers Market Ogden — along with the marathon we just saw last weekend — are the first signs of warm weather, ready to be outside and ready to engage with the community. We look forward to kicking off our market this weekend. It just brings a lot to the downtown area and makes it more approachable, activates the public space in ways you probably wouldn’t be able to do without the market.”
